WITCH, PLEASE: trauma, Neurodivergence, and the spiritual awakening will take you home

Grab your tea (or wine—no judgment here), because this is about to be an eye-opening, witchy, emotionally-charged journey!

Many of us grapple with trauma, navigate the complexities of neurodiversity, and explore spiritual realms that go far beyond what we were taught was "normal."

It’s a vast landscape—a tapestry woven from our lived experiences, big feelings, ancient wisdom, and those moments that make you stop and go, "What the actual fuck is happening to me?"

And guess what? You're not broken. You're waking up. You're remembering.

Let’s weave together the threads of these experiences and discover how they can create a path toward healing and self-awareness, sprinkled with a bit of magic.

Trauma: The Shattering That Opens the Soul

Let’s start with the elephant in the nervous system: trauma.

Not just the big, dramatic stuff.

But the quiet ones.

The subtle emotional bruises.

The silent sobs you swallowed so no one would notice.

The time you learned being loved meant betraying your truth.

And for women? Let’s be honest—trauma is baked into the system.

In the UK, research shows 1 in 3 women experience some form of abuse in their lifetime.

Trauma isn’t an exception; it’s an epidemic. And it doesn’t just fade. It builds stories in your body, it rewires your brain, and it affects how you show up in the world.

But here’s where it gets beautiful: trauma doesn’t just damage—it activates.

It awakens your sensitivity. It cracks open your perception. It forces you to feel things others miss entirely. That isn’t weakness, my love. That’s alchemy.

Neurodivergence: Magic Misunderstood

Now let’s talk about the thing nobody diagnosed you with in school: being wired differently.

Neurodivergence isn’t a new trend; it’s just newly spoken about. Autism, ADHD, sensory processing differences, HSPs (highly sensitive people)—these are ways of being, not glitches in the system.

And most of us only realise we’re neurodivergent after years of wondering why we feel like an alien in a human suit.

In the UK, diagnoses for adult ADHD in women have skyrocketed over the past 5 years—but so many of us still slip through the cracks.

We’re the ones who:

  • Feel 10 layers deep into a conversation.

  • Notice the subtle shift in someone’s mood before they speak.

  • Need solitude like we need oxygen.

What others called "too much" or "overly emotional"?

That was your superpower—you just didn’t have the language for it yet.

Neurodiverse individuals often possess heightened sensitivities and intuitive abilities that can connect to spiritual practices and witchy wisdom. Many women find themselves at the intersection of trauma and neurodiversity, actively searching for answers and connections.

Spirituality & Psychic Shifts: The Side Effect of Seeing It All

So, you’re processing trauma.

You’ve realised you’re not neurotypical.

And then… weird shit starts happening...

You’re sensing things before they occur. You’re hearing the whispers in the silence. You pull a tarot card, and it tells you exactly what you needed to hear.

Coincidence? Hell no. It’s called an awakening.

Spirituality often creeps in once we’ve burned out on logic.

Once the self-help books stop helping.

Once our nervous system says, “There’s something more here. Listen.”

And so we light candles. We meditate. We pick up crystals, and they feel alive. We speak to our ancestors, and they answer.

This is not madness. This is remembering.

Spirituality can serve as a refuge, helping those processing trauma and neurodiversity. Here is where we find the magical realm of spiritual exploration—embracing our connection to the universe, tapping into psychic abilities, and utilizing intuitive practices.

Witchy Wisdom: Reclaiming What They Tried to Burn

Now let’s talk about the word that either makes people lean in… or run for the hills: witch.

But this isn’t about cauldrons or hexes. It’s about power. About women reclaiming their birthright to know, to feel, to heal.

Witchcraft is ancestral. Intuitive. Sacred. And yeah - super triggering for systems that thrive off your disempowerment.

Witchy wisdom invites you to:

  • Honour your menstrual cycle.

  • Track the moon.

  • Trust your intuition more than any spreadsheet.

  • Use herbs and rituals not to escape life, but to feel it fully.

And guess what? So many of us find our witchiness after trauma and diagnosis. Because once you realise the system lied to you, you start remembering the truth that was always within you.

By embracing our "witchy" side, many women rediscover themselves—a return to intuition, creativity, and spiritual insight.

So What’s the Point of All This?

To say: you’re not alone.

There’s a pattern here. Trauma cracks you open. Neurodivergence tunes you in. Spirituality shows you the way. Witchy wisdom gives you the tools.

Together? That’s not chaos. That’s your becoming.

It’s messy. It’s magical. And it’s yours.

So, how do trauma, neurodiversity, spirituality, and witchy wisdom connect? The threads intertwine, forming a framework for navigating personal journeys. It starts with recognising our experiences—acknowledging trauma, understanding neurodiversity, and exploring spiritual and intuitive practices.

Healing through Self-Acceptance

To connect these dots, we must practice self-acceptance. This gentle reminder reinforces that each part of our journey is valid.

Trauma shapes us, and being neurodiverse adds layers to our identities, but it does not define us.

Self-compassion is crucial. It’s vital to honor our feelings, recognizing that emotions are processed differently by everyone. This acceptance lays a fertile foundation for spiritual exploration, encouraging us to seek practices that resonate with our unique experiences.

Finding Your Community

Connecting with others who share similar experiences can provide immeasurable support. Engaging in community creates opportunities for dialogue, understanding, and healing.

In a world that may feel isolating, community fosters belonging and empowers women to explore their spirituality without judgment.

Finding your tribe is vital. Whether virtual groups, local meetups, or covens, these connections can serve as grounding forces in a woman's journey.

Embracing Your Intuition

Once we acknowledge our journeys, embracing our intuition is vital. Intuitive practices, such as journaling, meditation, or oracle readings, serve as pathways for reflection and self-discovery.

These practices help us tap into our inner voice, offering insights into our emotional landscapes and revealing the connections between trauma, neurodiversity, and our spiritual paths.

Make room for intuitive practices in your daily routine. Start small—set an intention each morning or engage in grounding exercises. You might be surprised at what you learn about yourself.

Honoring Our Journey

As we unravel the connections between trauma, neurodiversity, spirituality, and witchy wisdom, we empower ourselves to reclaim our narratives.

Honoring this journey reveals strength in vulnerability. Empowered women can become catalysts for change, influencing their lives and the world around them.

By sharing our stories, embracing our unique perspectives, and affirming our experiences, we can inspire others to embark on similar paths of healing and growth.

Embracing the Journey Ahead

Connecting the dots between trauma, neurodiversity, spirituality, and witchy wisdom is not merely a theoretical exercise; it is a transformative journey of understanding, acceptance, and empowerment.

For many women navigating this terrain, recognising these intersections brings clarity. It validates experiences that may have felt lonely or misunderstood, turning pain into purpose.

As we emerge from this exploration, remember to value your power, trust your intuition, and seek community. The journey may be complex, but it can also be profoundly rewarding as you uncover your unique path.

So, pour another cup of tea (or savor that wine), and here’s what I want you to know:

  • You’re not behind.

  • You’re not dramatic.

  • You’re not making it up.

  • You’re not asking for too much.

You’re awakening. You’re healing. You’re walking yourself back home.

And if you ever want someone who sees it all - who’s living it, who can walk beside you as you piece it all together?

I’m right here.

With love, sarcasm, and a cheeky wink from the cosmos— Sarah x
